Each year the HSF awards academic scholarships to college bound graduating high school seniors that have had to overcome significant personal adversity in their short lives yet have showcased the strength and resiliency of the human spirit. These students submit an application to the HSF committee which includes an official high school transcript, list of extracurricular involvements, statement of post secondary plans, and an essay detailing their personal story, what they have overcome and how their experiences have shaped them. Recipients are chosen on the basis of character, financial need and academic achievement and are awarded scholarships at senior award ceremonies at the culmination of the school year. In honoring these brave warriors, the HSF in turn keeps the memory of our lost little angels alive, whose parents will never be able to witness the educational dreams of their own children come to fruition.
